Ring of Elden is here. As players finally get a chance to jump into this massive open world, there are a few things they’ll need to know how to do.
One of them is to navigate the lands using your map. Unlike previous FromSoftware titles, locating yourself in the world and venturing into open pastures is an important part of uncovering the secrets of Ring of Elden. In this case, it is essential that you use your card.
Luckily, the game does a great job of teaching you how to use this feature and the benefits it offers. For those looking to freshen up, here’s everything you need to know.
How to Use the Map in Elden Ring
Use of the card in Ring of Elden is extremely simple. All you have to do to open it is press the touchpad on your Dualsense controller.
When you first press this button and open the map menu, you will see where you are currently on the map next to structures at your location. If you’re trying to track something down or remember a location for later, you can simply drop a beacon on your map.
Using the minimap as well, you can quickly fast travel to grace sites you’ve visited on the map. This won’t be possible for all locations such as Legacy Dungeons, but it’s the fastest way to traverse the lands in between.
As you travel, you’ll discover more of the map by finding fragments of stelae scattered across the world.
