Evaluations:
1. Worked for me--
Networking with local educators
Validating my core beliefs in education
The presenter/facilitator offered creative & interesting ways to hold discussions
Thanks!…Great experience!
2. Worked well:
Video set stage well
Genuine commitment and knowledge of presenter
Excellent activity and article
Could Be Improved:
Time to become familiar with the principles of pbe BEFORE video
Wagon wheel activity—questions were premature--we needed to know more, discuss more to optimize dialogue potential
Need a strong handout of pbe quality indicators--maybe we should have created it.
Lingering questions:
How can we get ourselves/teachers past the standards "burden?"
Do we drain the place based local resources? (i.e., Foxfire--how many times can the same stories be gathered?
Does pbe improve measured academic skills and knowledge as the article alludes? Are there good studies & research out there?
3. Concept builds on the "roots" of the child
Morning moved quickly with good interpersonal exercises.
DEF is a unique organization that can serve as a conductor between schools & communities.

5. Good methods of encouraging interaction.
