We
sincerely thank Delegate Norm Conway for giving his time and insight
to provide a stimulating and informative evening for all. We also
wish to thank our Sponsors, Partners in Education, Patrons, and Supporters
who made this event a great success.
Keynote
speaker, Maryland
State Delegate Norman H. Conway, shared his perspective
on the challenges and opportunities facing education on the Lower Delmarva
Peninsula.

is uniquely and expertly qualified to bring analysis, understanding
and vision to our regional educational landscape.
Robin
Holloway and Sharon Clark were co-chairs of the planning committee for
this fundraiser dinner. The net proceeds from this event, which was
held in the Midway Room of the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury,
Maryland, benefited the Delmarva Education Foundation's programs and
Perdue-Kresge endowment fund.
DEF
was one of nineteen non-profit organizations in our community chosen
to be a Perdue-Kresge matching grant partner. Our Perdue-Kresge
Challenge goal was to raise $100,000 by December 14, 2004.
All PKC contributions were matched dollar-for-dollar with Perdue-Kresge
monies for the DEF endowment fund at the Community Foundation of the
Eastern Shore. Donations to our endowment fund insure the future of
the Delmarva Education Foundation, enabling us to continue “to improve
educational opportunities for residents of the Lower Delmarva Peninsula
by supporting a regional approach to educational problems.”
